Josh Naylor Expected to Join the Mariners on Friday
Josh Naylor is expected to join the Mariners on Friday in Anaheim, MLB.com's Daniel Kramer reports. The Mariners acquired Naylor on Thursday, July 24, as they look to keep pace with the Houston Astros in the AL West. As it stands today, they are currently sitting five games back in the division and are in the driver's seat in the AL Wild Card race, as they sit half a game ahead. Naylor has enjoyed his time in Arizona in 2025, where he's slashed .292/.360/.447 with 11 home runs, 49 runs scored, 59 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. Naylor coming to town will likely push Luke Raley and Donovan Solano to a bench role, as he's expected to have an everyday role with this Mariners lineup. He will likely bat fourth or fifth in the lineup, behind Julio Rodriguez, J.P. Crawford, and Cal Raleigh, which will provide him with plenty of opportunities to continue to produce for a team pushing for the playoffs. Naylor continues to be a top first baseman to deploy in all fantasy formats.
