Josh Adams Clears Waivers, Becomes Free Agent
3 years agoFormer New York Jets running back Josh Adams cleared waivers on Monday and decided not to re-sign to the team's practice squad, according to a source. Adams was a healthy scratch in the first two weeks of the season and played just 11 special teams snaps in Week 3. There are at least a few running back-needy out there that could give Adams an opportunity, but we'd be surprised if he lands somewhere and has an immediate on-field impact, let alone a fantasy one. The Chicago Bears are one team that comes to mind after lead back David Montgomery suffered a hyperextended knee in Week 4 that could keep him out for multiple weeks. If Adams lands somewhere else quickly, he'll likely start on a practice squad and will need to prove himself before earning a promotion.
