According to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jose Suarez will report to camp as a starter but will likely be deployed as the club's long reliever. The Angels have several options to take the final spot in the rotation, and Suarez will face an uphill battle to compete for that job. As a result, the club will likely deploy him out of the bullpen. Last season, the 27-year-old appeared in 22 games and made three starts. He held a hefty 6.02 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP. He struck out 22.3 percent of the batters he faced. However, he struggled to command his pitches as he held a high 11.3 percent walk rate. He also generated a 47.7 percent barrel rate, which placed him in the second percentile among qualified pitchers. While he may occasionally be given a spot-start, he should not be targeted in any drafts this season, given his expected role.--Andy Smith
