Jose Suarez To Start Monday, Dylan Bundy To The 'Pen
Los Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon said that pitcher Jose Suarez will join the rotation and start on Monday against the Boston Red Sox. Right-hander Dylan Bundy will move to the bullpen, with Maddon saying it can give Bundy "a chance to reset." Bundy has had a rough go of it after a really nice first season in Anaheim. He's gone 1-7 this year with a 6.58 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 63/21 K/BB in 15 outings (14 starts) over 67 innings. Bundy did come in to throw two scoreless innings of relief on Wednesday against the Yankees, so that's a good sign. He doesn't need to be held in shallow mixed leagues. Suarez has been great in relief for the Halos with a 1.98 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 26 K's to nine walks in 27 1/3 relief innings in 2021. The matchup isn't a great one on Monday, but he's worth a look in deeper mixed leagues now that he has a starting opportunity.
