Jose Osuna To Benefit From DH In National League
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder/first baseman Jose Osuna, who has mostly been a bench bat for the team the last three years, stands to benefit from the universal designated hitter in 2020. Osuna hasn't played more than 104 games or recorded more than 285 plate appearances in a single season. The Pirates plan to rotate players through the DH spot, which should allow regulars like Josh Bell, Colin Moran and Gregory Polanco to take days off from playing defense. Osuna had 10 home runs, 20 doubles, 36 RBI and a league-average 100 OPS+ in 2019, but he can offer some power in deep mixed and NL-only leagues if he sees everyday at-bats in the 60-game season.
