5 months agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the Astros win over the Royals on Monday. The former MVP has struggled since popping six home runs in a five-game stretch in early April and is 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 12 games played while slugging only .300 over his last 15 games. It is too early to give up on a talented hitter like Altuve, but his recent struggles further the belief that he no longer is the elite fantasy force of seasons past. Altuve certainly is a candidate to be a buy-low fantasy player in the trade market right now, but it certainly would be a gamble.--Joey C - RotoBaller
