Jose Abreu Day-To-Day After Scary Collision

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has been diagnosed with a facial contusion and laceration as well as a bruised left knee after colliding with Kansas City Royals infielder Hunter Dozier in the top of the second inning. Abreu had trouble standing and walking off the field after the collision, but the initial tests for a concussion were negative. It's positive news that the slugger is being listed day-to-day and managers can take a sigh of relief. Abreu is unlikely to play in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader and catcher Zack Collins could see some more action with Abreu sidelined.
