Jorge Soler Removed With Hamstring Tightness
4 months agoAtlanta Braves outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (hamstring) was removed as a precaution from Wednesday night's game against the hosting San Francisco Giants due to left-hamstring tightness. Soler tweaked his hamstring running to first base in the fourth inning and was removed, but hopefully he'll be able to return no later than Friday's series opener in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. Fantasy managers should probably expect the Braves to hold Soler out of action for Thursday's series finale in a matinee contest against the Giants. Before hitting the showers early, Soler went hitless in two at-bats with a run scored and was replaced in left field by Jarred Kelenic. The Cuban slugger was a disappointment with the Giants in the first half of the year but has been better in his return to Atlanta, as he came into Wednesday's contest batting .279 (12-for-43) with four homers and 11 RBI in his first 12 games for the Braves. UPDATE: Soler won't play on Thursday. However, manager Brian Snitker didn't sound too concerned.
