Jorge Soler Ramping Up Activities
Jorge Soler (back) is making progress in his recovery from inflammation in his lower back. Soler has begun increasing activities in the field, including shagging fly balls, while taking batting practice on "several" occasions and hitting off a high-velocity machine, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Soler has been on the 10-day injured list since July 24, but the team is hopeful that he'll return sometime in September. The 33-year-old slugger has played in 82 games and slumped to a .215/.293/.387 line with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 315 plate appearances.
