Jon Duplantier Behind In Camp
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen said that starting pitcher Jon Duplantier (elbow), who was shut down in April with right-elbow soreness, is a bit behind the other pitchers at the start of summer camp this weekend. Duplantier was working as a starter when things were shut down this spring and was ticketed to start the 2020 season in the minors. The fact that his elbow still isn't quite ready months later is a bit of a concern and means that there's a chance he won't be ready for the start of the season. The 25-year-old will be a depth option for the rotation this year, making him one to leave to the waiver wire in most leagues. He had a 4.42 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings in 15 outings (three starts) in his first big league action in 2019.
