Joey Ortiz Launches Two Big Flies on Tuesday
Joey Ortiz clobbered a pair of home runs on Tuesday, leading the way to a 9-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ortiz smashed a two-run shot in the third inning, then a solo bomb in the fourth, both off of Pirates starter Andrew Heaney. He also had an RBI groundout in the eighth, bringing his total to four on the day. The 26-year-old has struggled mightily for the most part this season, but he has been turning things around at the dish over the last week or so. He is 13-for-30 with two homers and eight RBI over his last seven games. That said, he still holds pretty awful numbers for the season, as he is now hitting .217 with 31 runs, four homers, 18 RBI, and eight steals. Ortiz is still a ways off from even being a consideration for fantasy managers.
