Joc Pederson, Thairo Estrada Back From IL And Starting
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants activated outfielder Joc Pederson (hand) and infielder Thairo Estrada (wrist) from the injured list on Tuesday, and both players are starting against right-hander Dinelson Lamet and the Colorado Rockies. Pederson is serving as the designated hitter and batting third, while Estrada is at the keystone and hitting in the two-hole. In corresponding moves, infielder Brett Wisely and outfielder Bryce Johnson were optioned to the minors. Pederson is returning for the first time since landing on the IL on May 15, and he's likely to continue playing only against right-handers. The 31-year-old is hitting .235 with five homers and 18 RBI this year. Estrada, meanwhile, will return to his starting role at the keystone. The 27-year-old has been great with a .301 average, six home runs, 17 RBI, 30 runs and 13 stolen bases in 193 at-bats.
