1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell (oblique) has resumed hitting at the team's spring training facilities in Arizona, and the team is hopeful that he can return this season. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared in a game since July 8 and was later moved to the 60-day injured list. "It's gonna take him a minute to ramp him up to where he can see live pitching," manager Phil Nevin said on Sept. 2. "Hopefully we can get him back at some point." With the Angels out of playoff contention at this point, there's no reason for the organization to rush Adell back into the fold. He's eligible to return from the IL on Sept. 7, but it's unlikely he'll be ready to return without playing in minor-league rehab games. Adell performed well at Triple-A Salt Lake, but he had six strikeouts in 14 plate appearances for the Angels before his injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
