The New York Jets released former starting linebacker James Burgess on Friday, according to a source. Burgess started 10 games at middle linebacker for Gang Green in 2019 and had an impressive 80 total tackles. He also had an interception, half a sack, five passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The 26-year-old had four sacks in his rookie year with Cleveland and 75 total tackles in 2017.
