Jets Picking Up Jermaine Johnson's Fifth-Year Option
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the New York Jets are picking up defensive end Jermaine Johnson's (Achilles) $13.4 million fifth-year option for the 2026 season. The Jets are picking up Johnson's fifth-year option despite the fact that he tore his right Achilles in Week 2 of last year. The 26-year-old pass-rusher had enough time to recover since it was an early-season injury, though, and he remains on track to participate in organized team activities this spring and training camp this summer. Johnson, who was taken 26th overall in the 2022 NFL draft out of Florida State, had 84 tackles (54 solo), 10 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 21 QB hits, an interception returned for a touchdown, seven pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 31 games (17 starts) in his first two NFL seasons. Depending on how he bounces back from his Achilles injury, he could be in play in deep IDP fantasy formats in 2025.

Jonah Coleman Faces Workload Questions Despite Week 8 Opportunity
Denver Broncos running back Jonah Coleman has a better opportunity to contribute in Sunday's rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs than he did in Week 1, when he did not record a carry. RJ Harvey (knee) was limited Thursday, did not practice Friday, and was ruled out before Denver placed him on injured reserve Saturday. Coleman led the Broncos' backfield in snaps upon returning from an ankle injury in Week 7, rushing nine times for 54 yards and catching two passes for 15 yards against Arizona. He also produced 58 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 13 touches when Harvey missed Week 2. Coleman sits at RB26 in RotoBaller's Week 8 rankings, putting him in the flex conversation for 12-team leagues. However, J.K. Dobbins remains involved and handled Denver's one-yard touchdown carry against Arizona last week. Kansas City also allowed 100 rushing yards to Emanuel Wilson in Week 7, although he needed 24 carries to reach that total. Coleman's expanded opportunities are encouraging, but his workload and goal-line involvement remain uncertain.

Calvin Ridley Officially Active Against the Bengals
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (hip) is officially active for the Week 8 game on Sunday on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Jim Wyatt of the team's official website. Ridley will return from a one-game absence due to a hip injury, and he should have an expanded role in the Titans' passing game on Sunday in what should be a favorable game script, with rookie first-round wideout Carnell Tate sidelined with a shoulder injury. Ridley's return on Sunday is bad news for any fantasy managers using Elic Ayomanor as a flex play in Week 8 with Tate ruled out. The 31-year-old Ridley has not been a very active member of Tennessee's offense when he has been healthy this year, though, catching only five passes on 10 targets for 81 yards without a touchdown. Ridley will play against the Bengals, but he still is not a recommended starting option in fantasy football lineups. Jordyn Tyson Could Make NFL Debut in Week 9
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) could make his NFL debut in Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie first-round pick has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during an August joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Schefter reports that Tyson is nearing a return, even if he isn't ready for the November 8 matchup. The Saints have a Week 8 bye, giving the eighth overall pick additional recovery time. General manager Mickey Loomis said on October 21 that Tyson would not practice that week, making his potential return to the field an important development. Jakobi Meyers active Sunday vs. Colts
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, according to John Shipley of Sports Illustrated. Meyers was questionable to play this weekend after missing Friday's practice, but the 29-year-old will suit up for a good matchup. It is bad news as Brian Thomas Jr. looks to get more involved to make himself more attractive before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Meyers comes out of Jacksonville's Week 7 bye with 20 catches on 28 targets for 285 yards and two touchdowns in his first six games of his first full season with the Jaguars. Meyers is coming off a strong game in the team's last contest in London against the division-rival Houston Texans in Week 6, when he caught five of a season-high 10 targets for a season-high 83 yards, but he has not found the end zone since a Week 3 win over the New England Patriots. The former undrafted free agent from NC State found the end zone twice in the first two weeks of the 2026 campaign and will try to find paydirt for the third time against the floundering Colts. Breece Hall officially inactive Sunday
New York Jets running back Breece Hall (quadriceps) has officially been ruled out for the Week 8 game against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday and will miss a fifth straight game, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. It is disappointing for Hall's fantasy managers after it looked like the 25-year-old was trending in the right direction by practicing in a limited fashion earlier this week. With Hall on the bench yet again this weekend, Braelon Allen will need to be started in all fantasy football leagues as New York's top back against the Raiders. Hall's next chance to make a return for the Jets will be in Week 9 on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Nov. 8. In his fifth year in the NFL, Hall has been a bust so far in fantasy, playing in only three games and averaging 3.2 yards per carry for 163 rushing yards and one touchdown, adding 10 catches on 10 targets for 102 yards through the air. In his four starts with Hall sidelined, Allen has been great for fantasy managers, carrying the ball 72 times for 357 yards (5.0 yards per attempt) and a touchdown while adding 11 catches for 64 yards on 15 targets in the passing game.

George Pickens Active for Week 8 Against Cardinals
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (shoulder, hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, according to Jon Machota. Dalton Kincaid Playing in Week 8
As expected, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid (chest) is active on Sunday in the Week 8 tilt against the visiting Baltimore Ravens, per the NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. In addition to Kincaid playing through a minor chest injury, quarterback Josh Allen will get top receiver DJ Moore back from a shoulder injury that he originally suffered in the Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. Now that the 27-year-old Kincaid is officially active this weekend, fantasy managers should consider him at least a low-end TE1 option against Baltimore. Kincaid suffered his chest injury in the Week 6 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, but he is ready to go after having extra time to recover thanks to Buffalo's bye in Week 7. The former first-rounder will look to get back on track against a vulnerable Baltimore defense after catching just nine passes on 12 targets for 52 yards and no touchdowns in his last three games. In the first two games of the 2026 campaign, Dalton was looking like a true TE breakout with 12 catches for 225 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets.

DJ Moore Active on Sunday Against Ravens
Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) is officially active for Sunday's contest against the visiting Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, according to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network. Colts Looking for Big Package in Potential Jonathan Taylor Trade
As the Indianapolis Colts continue to field trade calls on running back Jonathan Taylor, the team is reportedly looking for a package similar to what the Carolina Panthers received from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for Christian McCaffrey four years ago, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Raiders Plan to Start Kirk Cousins as Long as Possible
The Las Vegas Raiders will continue to play quarterback Kirk Cousins "as long as possible," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. While there has been some chatter about the transition plan to No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza in recent weeks, it doesn't sound like the Raiders are ready to make a quarterback move. Allen has filled in admirably for Hall, totaling 72 carries, 357 rushing yards, 15 catches, 64 receiving yards, and one touchdown across his four starts.
