Jets Agree With Second-Rounder Denzel Mims
4 years agoThe New York Jets agreed to terms with rookie wide receiver Denzel Mims, the 59th overall pick in the second round, on a four-year, $5.5 million deal on Friday, according to SNY insider Ralph Vacchiano. The deal includes $3 million guaranteed. Mims is expected to play right away in three-receiver sets with Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder after Robby Anderson left for the Panthers in free agency. Mims caught 186 passes for 2,925 yards and 28 touchdowns (12 in his senior season) at Baylor. The 6-foot-3 wideout excels down the field and on contested catches, so he could be a real red-zone weapon for quarterback Sam Darnold right away. Mims is worth a late-round flier as a WR5/6 in redraft formats this year.
