Jerick McKinnon Quiet In Win Over Bengals
2 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon was held in check in the 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship on Sunday. McKinnon carried the ball only four times for one yard and caught two of his four targets for 17 yards through the air. The 30-year-old also recovered a fumble in the contest. It was a disappointing performance for McKinnon, especially with receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle) and Mecole Hardman (pelvis) all getting hurt during the game. In the Chiefs' two playoff games, McKinnon has only 15 carries for 26 yards and two catches for 17 yards. There's a chance his workload could be reduced even further, too, if Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) comes off Injured Reserve to play in the Super Bowl in two weeks.
