Jerick McKinnon Limited On Wednesday
10 months agoKansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon (groin) was listed as limited for the team's practice on Wednesday. McKinnon is still on Injured Reserve and has not played since Week 15. He was designated to return from Injured Reserve this week after having sports-hernia surgery, but that doesn't mean he'll officially be activated from IR before the Super Bowl on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday that it's unlikely the 31-year-old back will be cleared to suit up this weekend. If McKinnon were cleared, he'd likely be the No. 3 RB behind starter Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. When healthy during the regular season, McKinnon played a limited pass-catching role in KC's backfield, catching 25 passes for 192 yards and four touchdowns while adding 21 carries for 60 yards and another score in 12 games.
