Jerick McKinnon Likely To Move On
7 years agoMinnesota Vikings impending free-agent running back Jerick McKinnon looks destined to test the free-agent market. General manager Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer talked about the team's running game at last week's combine but only discussed Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray. With McKinnon expected to move on, the Vikings shouldn't have a problem replacing him in a loaded draft class of running backs. McKinnon wants a lead-back role, but he's unlikely to land one as more of a pass-catcher out of the backfield. He had 150 carries for 570 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and three touchdowns last year, but he added a career-high 51 catches for 421 yards and an additional two scores. He could remain in play as a PPR flex, depending on where he lands.
