Jeff McNeil Smacks Three-Run Blast In Defeat
6 years agoThe New York Mets briefly held a lead at the beginning of Tuesday afternoon's matchup against the New York Yankees thanks to one of their star youngsters. Jeff McNeil, playing in his first full season, drilled a three-run blast off Masahiro Tanaka in the third to complete a four-run frame that put his club ahead. It was one of two hits on the day for the 27-year-old, now batting .337 with three home runs and 20 RBI. McNeil has continued to carve out playing time as his club has regained some of their injured players.
