Javon Wims Suspended Two Games
4 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Javon Wims has been suspended two games without pay by the NFL for punching Saints defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in the team's Week 8 overtime loss. Wims will appeal the decision. The receiver punched the defensive back in the helmet twice and was immediately ejected. Wims told team officials that Gardner-Johnson spit on him and ripped out his mouthpiece on a previous play. The 26-year-old seventh-round pick in 2018 has just five receptions on eight targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in eight games this year and is well off the fantasy radar. If his appeal is heard in a timely fashion, he'll be forced to miss the Weeks 9 and 10 games against the Titans and Vikings, respectively.
