Jared Jones Goes Seven Innings, Fans Eight In Win
6 months agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jared Jones pitched seven innings in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays, allowing two earned runs on just three hits and three walks while striking out eight on his way to picking up his fifth win of the season. He also hit two batters, though, so his command was a bit off. Nevertheless, it was a nice rebound after allowing six earned runs his last time out against the Rockies. The 22-year-old is now 5-6 with a 3.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 19.4% K-BB% in 15 starts (86 IP). He'll have a tough test his next time out as he'll face the Braves in Atlanta next Friday.
