The highly-touted Jake Sanderson has signed his entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators. The Senators drafted him 5th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft. He played for the University of North Dakota over the last two seasons and was regarded as one of the best players in college hockey. Sanderson is widely known as a defensive defenseman but also has an offensive touch to round out his game. He scored 26 points in 23 games with North Dakota and was set to play in the Frozen Four tournament before getting sidelined with a hand injury.
