Jaguars Sign Shaquill Griffin To Three-Year Deal
4 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars are signing former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin to a three-year deal worth $44.5 million on Tuesday, according to a league source. Griffin will pair with 2020 first-rounder CJ Henderson to give the team two young cornerbacks to build around. Jacksonville allowed a league-high 8.7 yards per attempt last year and played man-to-man coverage at the fourth-highest rate in the NFL. Griffin, 25, started for Seattle since early in his rookie season in 2017, and the third-rounder was the team's top corner since moving to the left side in his second season. He has six interceptions in four seasons, including a career-best three in 12 games last year. Griffin made his only Pro Bowl appearance in 2019 and has played in 57 of a possible 64 regular season games.
