The 2019-20 season has been a big learning curve for Jack Hughes but he had a strong performance on Sunday night in the Devils’ 4-3 win over Ottawa. The 2019 first-overall draft pick scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the game. He now has two goals and three points in his last three games. That performance bumped him up to six goals and 16 points through 35 games. Defenseman Sami Vatanen also enjoyed the game with three helpers. He has now recorded seven points in his last six games and has already surpassed his points total from last season. First-year NHLer Nikita Gusev has quietly been heating up. He had a goal Sunday night for his eighth point in the last six games. For the Senators, both Anthony Duclair and Jean-Gabriel Pageau had points.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
