Jack Flaherty Throws Off Mound
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (oblique) has joined the team in San Francisco and made 15 light throws off a mound on Monday for the first time since his injury. While it was just a minor step in his throwing progression, it's a start. The 25-year-old right-hander could be back in the team's starting rotation at some point in late July. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball before the injury, going 8-1 with a 2.90 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB in 62 innings over 11 starts for the Cardinals. Fantasy managers must remain patient and keep Flaherty stashed in all formats, and hopefully he can pick up right where he left off in the second half of the season when he's back.
