Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect Jace LaViolette is not likely to play affiliated baseball for the Guardians this year, according to Guardians team president Chris Antonetti. The team's first-round pick in this year's MLB Draft broke his left hand during the SEC Tournament and subsequently underwent surgery, but was able to continue playing afterward. The Texas A&M product recently had a cleanup procedure on that same hand, which is why he's not expected to begin affiliated play this year. Despite that, the 21-year-old is expected to head to the team's player development complex in Arizona later this summer. Hopefully this will get his hand right and he can hit the ground running in 2026, as the youngster has some big-time power in his 6-foot-6 frame. --Jarod RuppRead More News
