Jace Avina Looking To Break Out Of Slump
4 months agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Jace Avina went 2-for-3 with a home run on Thursday evening. This was his first multi-hit game since July 13. Since July 1, the 14th-round pick has gotten a bit cold in the batter's box with a .118/.181/.171 line. However, in June, he carried a much better .258/.327/.419 line with three home runs. Hopefully, the 21-year-old can bounce back in August, and Thursday was a great step in that direction. Overall, through his first look at High-A this summer, Avina sits with a modest .248/.325/.405 line. Avina could be a candidate to see time at Double-A later this summer but will need to put together a solid handful of weeks before getting the call.
