Jac Caglianone Returning From 10-Day Injured List on Monday
Jac Caglianone (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Monday. The 22-year-old rookie missed the last few days of July and all of August with a strained left hamstring. Caglianone was the sixth pick in the 2024 draft, and his promotion to the majors in early June came with great fanfare. However, he could only muster a .147/.205/.280 slash line with five home runs and 10 RBI in 41 games and 161 plate appearances before he went on the IL. While Caglianone has slashed a video game-like .337/.408/.617 with 20 homers and 72 RBI across 304 trips to the plate at the Triple-A level this season, it's unclear how much playing time he'll receive in his return to the Royals. Fellow left-handed hitter Mike Yastrzemski, acquired from the San Francisco Giants after Caglianone landed on the shelf, has taken over as the team's primary right fielder and has thrived.
