J.D. Davis Gets The Start Friday For 'Stros
6 years agoHouston Astros third baseman J.D. Davis is in the lineup Friday as the Astros open up a series with the Rangers in Houston. With the sudden injury to reigning MVP Jose Altuve, manager A.J. Hinch is forced to shuffled the deck in the infield. Enter Davis, who is only 1-for-7 in the month of July and hitting .192 through 52 at-bats this season. Davis has torched Triple-A pitching this season, slashing .340/.396/.535, but has struggled to find consistent playing time on a team with the best run differential in the game right now. Expect Davis to see a jump in at-bats over the next week but is not worth the risk in fantasy while he fills in.
