4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson struck out seven batters during the club's 8-7 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. The rookie right-hander allowed three runs on six hits — including a first-inning solo homer to Jean Segura — over six innings of work. Anderson has struggled with his control in recent games and has walked five batters over his past 10 innings, including three on Saturday. Through seven starts in 2021, the 23-year-old has a 26% strikeout rate and a 53.5% ground-ball rate which has helped him keep the ball in the park with just four homers allowed in 39 innings of work.
