Hunter Dozier Hammers Second Homer
7 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Hunter Dozier was the only offensive bright spot for the Royals on Tuesday, as his solo home run in the fifth inning put their only run on the board. Dozier's time in the majors has been pretty mediocre while he's been filling in for the injured Lucas Duda. He's hitting .250 with a couple home runs in 88 at-bats, which would be OK for a weak-hitting middle infielder, but a full-season pace of just 10 homers isn't very good for a corner infielder with no wheels. Dozier was considered a top prospect as recently as 2016, so perhaps he'll come around, as he is just getting his first extended taste of major league pitching, but there are concerns that he's just going to be another disappointment for KC.
