Hunter Dobbins Punches Out Eight in Rehab Outing
Hunter Dobbins (elbow) struck out eight batters across five innings. He is reba outing with Double-A Portland on Saturday. He allowed just two hits and one run. He did not serve up a walk. Dobbins has been on the 15-day IL since the end of June due to a right elbow strain. Dobbins completed a bullpen on July 1 and looked dominant in his first rehab outing. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be activated in the coming days, as he looked quite comfortable in his rehab outing. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut earlier this season and posted a 4.10 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP across 59 1/3 innings of work. During this stretch, Dobbins struck out 43 hitters but showed strong command, serving up walks at a 6.5% rate. When he does return to Boston, he should have a role in the starting rotation.
