Harold Castro Retreats To The Bench Against Royals
2 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Harold Castro is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. The left-handed hitter will take a seat against Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch. The 28-year-old utility infielder has been solid for the Tigers in 400 at-bats in 2022, slashing .275/.303/.388 with seven home runs, 47 RBI and 36 runs scored. Castro should be back in the starting lineup when Detroit faces another right-handed pitcher. Rookie Ryan Kreidler is starting at the keystone on Wednesday and is batting seventh against Lynch. In his first 61 plate appearances in his first 18 major-league games, Kreidler has gone 11-for-52 (.212) with only a homer, five RBI and 17 strikeouts, so he'll be one to avoid in DFS.
