The Florida Panthers re-signed defenseman Gustav Forsling to a three-year contract worth an average annual value of $2.66 million. This is the first time that the 25-year-old has been rewarded with a one-way contact. Prior to joining the Panthers for the 2020-21 season, the native of Sweden spent parts of three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks. He also spent all of the 2019-20 season in the AHL as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes organization. Forsling was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Last season with the Panthers, he recorded five goals and 17 points in 43 games while passing numerous veteran defensemen on the depth chart. He also had an impressive +/- rating of 17 and also played 20 minutes a game. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
