1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez came through for his team Wednesday versus Cincinnati. He would throw six shutout innings while his team built up a lead. The performance would allow him to earn his second victory out of three outings with the team. Gonzalez has performed better with the Brewers than his overall 2018 numbers with the Nationals while helping them in their battle for a postseason berth. In fact, he has lowered his overall season ERA by 29 points over his three Milwaukee outings. Gonzalez faces a tough test in a crucial game in his next scheduled outing as he will go on the road to face a St. Louis squad who is also fighting for a playoff spot.--Jamie Mellor
