Giants, Padres Interested In Harrison Bader
1 year agoThe San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres have been active on center fielders this offseason, including Harrison Bader. Korean outfielder Jung-Hoo Lee is also of interest to both the Giants and the Padres, as well as plenty of other teams. The Padres just dealt outfielders Juan Soto and Trent Grisham in a blockbuster deal to the New York Yankees on Wednesday night. If they'd prefer not to move Fernando Tatis Jr. to center field, signing a defensive-minded center fielder like Bader would make some sense. Not only can the 29-year-old Bader patrol center field, but he stole a career-high 20 bases in 98 games with the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds in 2023. Pretty much anything the Friars get from a new center fielder offensively in 2024 would be an upgrade over Grisham, who really struggled with the bat the last two years.
