Freddie Freeman Slugs Grand Slam In Losing Effort
4 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman added an exclamation mark to the Braves' rally on Sunday with a seventh-inning grand slam. The club scored seven runs in the inning to come within one run of tying the game but eventually fell short and lost the game 10-9 to the Milwaukee Brewers. The homer was Freeman's second in as many days. The veteran first baseman hasn't hit for average this year despite a career .293 average but his 11 home runs place him just one shy of the league leaders. The total also ties him with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays for the league lead among first basemen. With a .204 BABIP, some hits are bound to drop in for Freeman sooner rather than later.
