4 months agoThe Houston Astros optioned starting pitcher Framber Valdez to Triple-A Round Rock after his start on Wednesday. Valdez allowed eight hits (one homer) and six earned runs while walking one and striking out two in just three innings in his second straight loss on Wednesday to the Pirates. It was his second straight clunker this month and raised his ERA to 4.57 on the season. The 24-year-old had some decent outings, though, while in Houston's rotation and he could be back up at some point in the second half, but it might be in a relief role. The southpaw will be worth considering in deeper leagues as a matchup-based streamer if he's starting games again in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
