Falcons Keeping Options Open At No. 4 Overall
4 years agoAtlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot isn't sure exactly which way the team will go with the No. 4 overall pick in the first round of Thursday's NFL draft. The first-year GM insists there's "definitely no pressure" heading into his first draft, because he thinks the pressure comes in the process of preparing for the draft. "We've gone through the different things that can happen. But you never know what is going to happen at that exact moment, but we know the players that we're talking about," Fontenot said. He called Florida tight end Kyle Pitts a special player, and the belief is that the Falcons will be choosing between Pitts, North Dakota State QB Trey Lance or Ohio State QB Justin Fields if they remain at fourth overall. If they don't trade back, Atlanta wants an impact player, "whether it's a player that's going to sit or a player that's going to play right away."
