Falcons Acquire Jeff Okudah From Lions
2 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons acquired cornerback Jeff Okudah from the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, according to his agent Kevin Conner. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons sent the Lions a fifth-round pick in this year's draft in exchange for Okudah, according to a source. The 24-year-old will get a fresh start in Atlanta after the Lions took him with the third overall pick in 2020 out of Ohio State. Injuries limited Okudah to just 10 games in his first two NFL seasons, but he was able to play in 15 games in 2022 and finished with a career-high 73 tackles (59 solo), one interception returned for a touchdown, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble. In his new home Okudah will be looking to supplant Casey Heyward as a starter in Atlanta opposing A.J. Terrell.
