Ethan Salas Beginning To Hit At High-A
6 months agoSan Diego Padres catching prospect Ethan Salas has slowly begun to put his slow start behind him. In his past 16 games, the 18-year-old has tallied 15 hits, four doubles, one home run, 10 RBI, two stolen bases, and a 9:11 BB:K ratio. In this span, he is currently holding a .246/.338/.393 line. Before this stretch, the top-catching prospect was hitting for a .171/.282/.234 line. Last season, Salas spent the majority of the season with Single-A but did get a taste of High-A and even Double-A. However, with his rough start to the season, Salas should be expected to remain at High-A for the foreseeable future and may only join Double-A in the second half of the season. Salas is ranked as the number five overall prospect in baseball on MLB Pipeline and will be one of the most valuable catchers in dynasty leagues for years to come.
