The Philadelphia Eagles defense is not a good Week 1 choice in most fantasy lineups. The Eagles largely struggled on the defensive side of the ball in 2020, and there's plenty of reason to believe more of the same could be in store for the 2021 season. Their Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons isn't an awful one, but they are still ranked somewhere in the 20s among fantasy units, meaning that essentially every league should have a better option available on the waiver wire before Week 1 kicks off.
