5 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) suffered what sources are calling a significant setback with his left knee. Pedroia is discussing his options with his family, agents and the Red Sox, and his availability for spring training is questionable. The 36-year-old has played in a combined nine games the last two seasons because of his knee issues, so this could very well be the end of the line for the former Rookie of the Year, MVP and four-time All-Star second baseman. Pedroia was just hoping to have a shot to compete for a roster spot this spring, so fantasy owners wouldn't have had him on their radar to begin with.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
