Durham Smythe Unlikely To Be A Primary Target
1 year agoThe Miami Dolphins like tight end Durham Smythe, but he's not exactly billed as a catch-volume player. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler's sense is that Smythe will be used as a do-it-all option and a trusted blocker, but not as a primary target in the passing game for the Dolphins in 2023. The team has also been pleased with Eric Saubert, whom they signed in the offseason on a one-year deal. The Dolphins let both Mike Gesicki and Hunter Long walk in free agency this offseason, so Smythe's role is going to grow inevitably, but it's probably not going to be enough to put him on the fantasy radar. He has only reached the 300-yard mark once in his career.
