Drew Maggi Making First MLB Start
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates infielder Drew Maggi will make his first major-league start for the Bucs on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and left-hander Julio Urias. Maggi is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the batting order. The 33-year-old has a tough assignment in his first-ever MLB start, and DFS gamers can probably look elsewhere. The career minor-leaguer has a .254/.349/.347 slash line in 1,155 games on the farm, including 185 doubles, 19 triples, 45 home runs, 354 RBI and 222 stolen bases in 4,494 plate appearances. He struck out as a pinch-hitter in his first big-league plate appearance on Wednesday and will likely be returned to the minors in short order now that outfielder Bryan Reynolds is back from the bereavement list.
