Drew Lock Replaces An Injured Teddy Bridgewater
3 years agoDenver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock was forced into action on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals in the second half when starter Teddy Bridgewater (head) was carted off the field on a stretcher after a scary head/neck injury during a scramble. Lock did throw a touchdown to wide receiver Tim Patrick to momentarily take the lead, but he struggled otherwise by going 6-for-12 for 88 yards while also losing a crucial fumble in the red zone when a Bengals defender basically took the ball away from Lock. Bridgewater was officially diagnosed with a concussion and will stay overnight in the hospital, so there's a very good chance that Lock will be forced to start in Week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 25-year-old lost the QB competition in training camp for a reason and has looked pretty awful in his limited action in 2021. Lock will be a low-end, desperation QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes the start next week.
