The Washington Capitals traded Dmitry Orlov to the Boston Bruins on Thursday, along with forward Garnet Hathaway. In return, Washington received Craig Smith, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick. The deal also involved the Minnesota Wild, who will retain 50 percent of Orlov's salary for a 2023 fifth-round pick. This is quite a statement from the Bruins, but Orlov's move to Boston will hurt his fantasy value, as he will play a lesser role after averaging a career-high 22:43 of ice time this season In Washington. He has recorded 19 points in 48 games for the year with 77 shots, 88 hits and 62 blocks. Garnet Hathaway, who is eighth in the league with 198 hits, will beef up the Bruins' fourth line.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
