Dinelson Lamet Could Make Season Debut Next Week
4 years agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Dinelson Lamet (elbow) was scheduled to throw between 65 and 75 pitches in a simulated game at the team's alternate training site on Thursday. Manager Jayce Tingler said that depending on how Lamet feels, he could be able to come off the injured list and pitch in the series against the Milwaukee Brewers, which begins on Monday at Petco Park. It's great news for fantasy managers and the Padres, especially after they recently lost Adrian Morejon to the injured list last week. The 28-year-old right-hander should be stashed in all leagues after his breakout in 2020, although you may want to temper expectations initially, as the Padres could keep Lamet on a short leash to begin his season.
