Dinelson Lamet Could Come Back As A Starter
2 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed hurler Dinelson Lamet (back) is expected to be an option to join the rotation once he returns from the injured list, according to MLB.com. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since May 4 after experiencing lower back stiffness. Over 10.2 innings this season, Lamet owns a 12.66 ERA and 2.44 WHIP with a 22.8% strikeout rate and an eye-opening 21.1% walk rate. The former San Diego Padre last started a game in 2021 but hasn't been successful as a starter since 2020, when he was a Cy Young candidate. Lamet has made two rehab starts and is on his way to returning, but fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited, even if he enters the rotation.
